DOUBLE WEDDING

BRIDES ARE SISTERS , A pretty double wedding took place last Saturday morning at the South Dunedin Presbyterian Church, when Nancy Mary Milwood Townsend was married to David Leslie Robertson and Audrey Joan Townsend was married to Frank Elder Watt. The brides are the daughters of Mr and Mrs G. Townsend, of Waimate. Miss Nancy Townsend wore a gown of magnolia satin brocaded in gold. Her full-length veil was of tulle, and she carried a bouquet of cream roses and jonquils. Miss Audrey Townsend's bridal gown of white embossed satin was made on classical lines. She wore a full-length embroidered veil and carried a bouquet of jonquils and freesias. Mrs J Rutherford Brown, who wore a frock of moss green, attended as the matron of honour, and Miss Helen Fairbairn, in a frock of buttercup yellow, as the bridesmaid. They wore headdresses of feathers, lace mittens, and carried bouquets of roses and chrysanthemums in autumn tonings. Miss Cecily Brown and Miss Margaret Bell were the flower-girls The bridegrooms were attended by the twin brothers of the brides, Messrs Arthur and Edward Townsend. After the ceremony the guests were received at the Caledonian Club by Mr and Mrs Townsend, assisted by Mrs Robertson. For travelling, the brides wore tailored suits, Mrs Robertson in nut brown with nigger accessories, and Mrs Watt in grey, with a white blouse and black accessories
