HOME ECONOMICS

A meeting of the council of the Otago Home Economics’ Association was held on Thursday afternoon when Miss Keetar. in the absence of Mrs Abbott, presided over executive members and the representatives of 15 branches. The reports showed that all branches had despatched parcels to Britain through the spending of emergency funds and sufficient money would be soon available for further parcels. Arrangements were made for the next central lecture and after some discussion it was decided that two representatives from each branch should attend the next council meeting to submit suggestions and make constructive plans for activities during the Otago centennial celebrations. Kew.—The members met at Mrs Fimgan’s home, where a demonstration on making rope mats was given by Mrs Greig. Forbury Park.—lnstead of the usual evening meeting, members spent an afternoon in being shown over the Roslyn woollen mills.
