THIRD SUCCESS IN AMERICA BEN HOGAN’S BRILLIANT EFFORT Rec. 10 p.m.'- NEW YORK, May 25. The South African, Bobby Locke, with a four-rounds total of 277, won the 15,000-dollars Invitation Tournament at Philadelphia. Locke played two one-under-par rounds for 70.

The other top scorers were Mangrum, Matt and Kowal, 281 each, and Ben Hogan 282. Hogan led the field at the half-way mark, establishing a course record of 65 for 18 holes on the first day. It was Locke’s third victory m five tournaments since he arrived in the United States. His winnings so far total 6037 dollars.
