FAIR TO CLOUDY The following officials weather forecast, covering the ensuing 24. hours, was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorologies/ Office in Wellington:— Situation. —An anti-cyclone over the North Island is moving slowly eastward, while a depression east of, Tasmania is moving south-eastward. Forecast to 5 p.m. To-day.—Light to moderate north-westerly winds predominating, and freshening gradually in places. Weather fair to cloudy mainly, but scattered rain developing later about, the western ranges. Temperatures cool. Further Outlook.—Some brief rain probable. Weather in Dunedin.—Rain totalling 0.05 inches fell early yesterday morning in Dunedin. Although there was no sunshine recorded, no rain fell throughout the rest of the day. Temperatures were mild, the maximum thermometer reading being 55.8 degrees and the minimum 45.3 degrees. A light north-easterly wind had dropped by nightfall.; Barometric pressure was steady throughout the day at 30.30 inches (1026 millibars), and stood at this figure at midnight. ‘
