EXTENSION SOUGHT
WAR-TIME EXPORT CONTROL PRESIDENT TRUMAN’S REQUEST Rec. 10 p.m. WASHINGTON, Mar. 19. President Truman has sent a message to Congress asking that the wartime control of exports be extended for a year beyond the statutory expiry date of June 30. The message pointed out that, because of the critical shortage of supplies, both here and abroad, control was necessary to protect United States economy as well as the discharge of her international responsibilities.
