WELLINGTON, Mar. 10. “ I appreciate particularly the elevated plane on which your newspapers reported the expedition’s activities,” said Rear-Admiral Byrd, paying a tribute to. the press to-day. “ There was no question of controversy, because obviously it was appreciated, as the Americans intended it should be, that what information had been obtained was in the interests of .freedom and the liberty-loving nations of the world.”
