FAIR TO CLOUDY Forecast for Otago.—The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington: Situation.—A ridge of high pressure covers New Zealand, and a depression is over the south-west Tasman. Forecast to 5 p.m. To-day.—Mode-rate south-easterlies, backing to the north-east; some scattered drizzle this morning, but weather fair to cloudy this afternoon; temperatures cool. Weather in Dunedin.—Showers of rain fell in Dunedin throughout the day yesterday, but the sky cleared at night. Temperatures were cold, the maximum thermometer reading being 48.9 deg and the minimum 41.4 deg. There was lhr 18min of sunshine. Rainfall yesterday totalled 0.37 in. <The wind, southerly to southwesterly, was strong throughout the day. Barometric pressure rose slightly to 29.90 in (1012 millibars) at midnight.
