AMATEUR CYCLING

MEETING OF LOCAL CLUB Arrangements for a road race—Orana Park to Pukeuri and return—were made at a meeting of the Oamaru Amateur Cvcling Club on Wednesday night. Messrs T. Faid and R. Boyd were appointed handicappers and judges, and Mr J. Hornal starter and timekeeper. Mr A. Conn was in the chair. It was decided to apply to the Otago Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Cycling Association for reaffiliation. as the club had been in recess since 1942. Mr Hornal intimated that he would present a cup, to be awarded to the winner of the race which would be held on October 12. and open to all amateur riders/ and Mr Boyd stated that he would contribute the prizes for second and third places and fastest time.
