HAKATARAMEA HOTEL
DESTROYED BY FIRE The Terminus Hotel, Hakataramea. was totally destroyed by fire in the early hours of yesterday morning, the licensee, his wife and domestic staff escaping in their night attire. No particulais of insurance on the building are available at present. Detective Sergeant J, Hill is investigating the fire on behalf of the Police Department. The hotel, a two-storeyed wooden building, was built about 65 years ago by the late Mr William Goddard, who was a well-known coach driver. It was part of the estate of the late Mr James Molloy. who occupied it for about 25 years. Since then the licence has changed hands many times, and the present licensee is Mr Lester Bain.
