INQUESTS
MARRIED WOMAN'S DEATH An inquest was held at the Morgue yesterday into the death of May Marion Stanton, aged 43, a married woman, of Milton, whose body was found early on Tuesday morning on the St. Clair beach. Sergeant Stark conducted the inquiry. After hearing evidence, the coroner, Mr J. H. Bartholomew, S.M., returned a verdict that the deceased committed suicide by drowning while in a state of depression due to ill-health. COAL GAS POISONING All inquest was held at the Hospital yesterday by Mr J. R. Bartholomew, S.M.. sitting as coroner, into the death of Catherine Grace Phinn, a middle-aged single woman, who was found dead on Tuesday in a workroom at the Dunedin Hospital, where she was employed as a seamstress. After hearing evidence, the coroner returned a verdict that the deceased died of coal gas poisoning, selfadministered while in a depressed state of mind.
