RETURNED SERVICES
MEETING OF DUNEDIN COMMITTEE
The fortnightly meeting of the Executive Committee of the Dunedin Returned Services' Association, held last night, was attended by Messrs H. P. Jefcoate (president), C. G, Hedge, C. R. McLean, W. K. Cameron, D. Forsvth, W. R. Porter, N. G. Stewart, W. E. Earnshaw, W. G. Nicolson, and M. S. Myers. New Members The nominations of 128 new members from the recent war and 3 from the Great War were approved, as well as 10 inward and 11 outward transfers. Committee Reports The Relief Committee report stated that 19 applications for relief had been received and in most cases they had been met by cash payments. The usual country district allotments bad been made. A report w’as being obtained from the Conservator of State Forests regarding the green pruning of the Roxburgh plantation. The Building Appeal Committee reported that arrangements were in hand for the Dunedin Repertory Society's production. " Home and Beauty," the proceeds from which would be devoted to the Building Fund. The Bowling Committee reported that the Dunedin Bowling Centre had been asked to allocate a date for the *annual Fours tournament. Re-issue of Badges
The Dominion Executive Committee wrote that because of protests from local committees, it had decided to reduce the charge for lost badges from 5s to 2s 6d, this decision to take effect as from September 1.
Advice was received from the Otago Golf Club that ex-servicemen who had served overseas in the recent war, would be admitted to membership of the club without having to pay the subscription. This offer would hold good up till August 31, 1946. Those servicemen who had been members before the war would not be charged a subscription for six months.
