BUTTER AND CHEESE

NEW SOUTH WALES OUTPUT THE LOWEST FOR YEARS (Rec. 9.30 p.m.) SYDNEY,. June 25. Butter production in New South ' Wales for the 1944-45 season is expected to total about 32,000 tons—the lowest for 20 years. The State’s cheese production will be about 2500 tons, against a target of 4000 tons. This v/as reported to-day by Dr H. J Hynes, of the Department of Agriculture. who also predicted a severe milk shortage. The tonnage of processed milk is about 5000 below that for the corresponding period of tost year.
