CAPTURE OF DUNKIRK
FANTASTIC LAST CHAPTER (Rec. 10 p.m.) LONDON, May 19. The last chapter of Dunkirk was the most fantastic of all, says the British United Press correspondent at Dunkirk. A British working party with one vehicle took over the famous town from 12,000 Germans. Dunkirk was the most heavily mined area in the The' Germans, after evacuating all the civilians, prepared to make the British pay dearly for the capture of the town and the beaches, which are sacred soil for Britain. They lived all winter amid fantastic desolation, waiting for their last stand. They established a flour mill, harvested sugar beet, and grew vegetables, and were thus able to save up their army rations for the grim siege which never came.
