“FOREIGN MADE”
Sir, Dr D. G. McMillan refers in his objections to Australian comment of the medical service scheme as being " foreignmade.” No matter what amount of probably over-painting of the general picture there may be, he quite overlooks the fact that some of the Labour Government Cabinet Ministers are Australian born, and there is not the slightest question that the majority of electors in New Zealand are now alive to the fact that oppressive legislation is rampant here. Orders-in-Council for practically all new legislation—and those with more matured and better judgment have to toe the mark—emanate, to use the doctor’s words, from " foreign ” politicians. His “ faux pas ” are however, becoming a quite familiar part of his comments. " Physician heal thyself ” may aptly apply to him. When we of the British race are working towards the solidity of it, quite apart from each other’s own domestic legislation, the word “ foreign ” is only creating a bar sinister.—l am, etc., Quid Nunc.
