WAITAKI GIRLS’ HIGH The annual athletic sports meeting of the Waitaki Girls'. High School was held yesterday in the Gardens, when there was a representative gathering of parents. Owing to the high wind no records were allowed. The results were as follows: — Championship Events Senior.—Long Jump: L. Kilgour 1, C. Steven 2, H. Sargeant 3; distance, 14ft sin. Instead of the usual handicap events, all the pupils in the school were put into teams, the purpose being to encourage the team spirit and also to encourage the individual pupil. The final results of the teams’ events were: Junior High School — la, 47i points, 1; Ila, 42 points, 2; lib, 38} points, 3. Senior High School—Gibson House, 322} points, 1; Ferguson, 320} points, 2; Burn, 308} points, 3.
