E J Ellis was on the track this morning'with Immediate, who will not go to Waimatc. but will remain here till after the Canterbury Jockey Club’s meeting C G. Humphries may not start Gulf ctvpam ih the Great Easter Handicap, as he fs backward but he. is training on well, and probably he will have a race at Riccarton later in the meeting. It is hoped to have him at his best for a trip t °An U miurV Cl m a JU s n houlder will prevent R Hawes from riding at Wa.mate, where he was engaged for Ascot Blend. It. is not certain when he will be fit foi hurdle decided on the Rockburn HanImmediate in the Great Easter Handicap and Golden Souvenir in the Great Autumn. C H Mackie will ride Lord Advocate and Foxleap: C. T. Wilson, Beau Cheval and Foxhaven; K. Nuttall, Pensacola and Lance Wing; H. Ford, Wise Girl and Gunga Din; C. McDonald Burberry and Vafort, while D. J. Thistoll will be on Palfrey in the Great Autumn.

F. A. Roberts is breaking in Mr E. Steele’s two yearling fillies, who arrived from Oamaru recently. They are a wellgrown pair, one by Theio— -Karlova and the other by Robin Goodfellow —First Cast.

Wise Girl and Ration, who have been sent to Waimat'e, have done well lately. Sham Boy has shown signs of soreness.
