SCATTERED FIGHTING

NORTH OF TIDDIM ROAD RUGBY, Oct. 22. Our troops are in contact with the enemy six miles beyond Tiddim on the road to Fort White, says a South-east Asia communique. West African troops from the Sangu Valley have reached the Kaladan River. In. Northern Burma British troops consolidated their positions at Mohnyin on Saturday, and engaged in further patrol activity m Railway Corridor. Chinese troops patrolled south of Kazu. Four bridges in the Kalewa area and 44 river craft in Central Burma were destroyed by the air force.
