LABOUR DAY

UNFAVOURABLE WEATHER Rain began to fall in Dunedin early on Sunday evening, and continued till well on in the afternoon yesterday, when brilliant sunshine was experienced. The rain had the effect of preventing games of bowls on several of the greens, but in seme cases clubs were able to play matches. Race meetings at Oamaru and Gore attracted many people from Dunedin, despite the difficulty of obtaining transport by train. There was, however, fairly heavy motor traffic on both the north and south roads.
