Sir,—Two things have impressed me as a visitor to your city—the loveliness of Dunedin and the filthy state of its streets During my two months’ stay here, I have formed the opinion that most of the male inhabitants suffer from chronic catarrh or T. 8., and that the City Council and Health Department are either blind or unable to cope with the situation. Patients in the sanatoria are taught that it is a criminal, offence to expectorate in the streets, I contend that there is much more danger in the streets ot Dunedin than in any T.B. institution m which I have worked. —I am, etc., N.Z’R.N.
