The importance of the educational side of broadasting was emphasised by the chancellor of the University of New Zealand (Mr J. A. Hanan, M.L.C.), when addressing the Senate in Christchurch. Far too little attention was paid by the authorities, in his opinion, he said, to the broadcasting of Scientific knowledge. “ Tremendous developments have been made scientifically since the outbreak of the war,” added the chancellor, " and, wherever it is possible, the people should be told about them.” The Railways Department advertises in this issue that the restrictions on travel will operate in the North Island from Monday, January 31.
