USE OF ‘RAIL FACILITIES (P.A.) WELLINGTON,'Jan. 26. The head office of the Farmers’ Union had been in touch with the railway authorities on the question of transport of breeding ewes, particularly in regard to transport to and from ewe fairs, said Mr .A. P. O’Shea, Dominion secretary of the union, in a statement to-night. The Railways Department had emphasised to him the serious position in regard, to coal, but had indicated that - facilities would be made available for the necessary transport of ewes. It would be necessary, however, for everyone to bear in mind the acuteness of the: coal positron. Mr O’Shea said that he would therefore urge that rail transport be used as sparingly as possible and that alternative means of delivering sheep be used wherever this could be done: •
