WOMEN’S INSTITUTES

Mrs H. Cooksley presided at the annual meeting of the South Otago Federation of Women’s Institutes at which every institute was represented.. Mrs H. Cooksley reported on the Dominion Council meeting, and Mrs J. Landels on the work of the National Council of Women. The competition, collection of seeds, resulted Clinton 1, Warepa 2, Papatowai 3. A paper on seeds prepared by Mr F, Barron, of Dumbarton, was read by Mrs O. M. Cross. The election results were; President, Mrs H. Cooksley; vice-presidents, Mesdames Landels and Tubman; hon. treasurer, Mrs O. M. Cross; hon. secretary, Mrs J. A. Mathieson; committee—Mesdames Harris, Sharp, Soper, Misses Gregan and May.
