COMING OFFENSIVE
TREPIDATION IN GERMANY NEW YORK, (Rec. 1 a.m.) Feb. 8. The New York Times in an editorial recalls that every flight abroad by Mr Churchill has resulted in a sudden and unexpected attack against the enemy. Therefore the Casablanca and Turkish meetings are causing “jitters ” and confusion in Germany. “ There is no doubt,” the New York Times adds, “ that this confusion is exactly what Mr Churchill set out to achieve. The Axis reaction to his vigourous hints of coming blows should gratify not only his political judgment, but also his sense of humour.”
