WELFARE OF ANIMALS
MEETING OF SOCIETY The monthly meeting of the Otago Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was held yesterday afternoon, and was attended by Messrs J. R. Dickison (chairman), T. Irvine, W. Cooper, T. Elliott, S. P. Leith, S. P. Norwood, R. D. Stewart, G. Matheson, and F. Goodwin. After considering a draft of the report and balance sheet which will be presented at the annual meeting, to be held on February 9, 1943, Mr Dickison said it was gratifying to note that there had been fewer complaints during the year, while the fact that more benefits had been received showed that people were interested in the work of the society. The inspector (Mr J. J. HinchclilT) reported that he had visited Ranfurl.v Milton. Allanlon, Outram, Mosgiel, Clin(on. Balclutha, Cromwell, and Wingatui. There had been no cases for investigation.
