“AS YOU ARE”

Opening to-night at His Majesty’s Theatre, the, Repertory Society’s production of “As 'You Are ” should meet with the approval of those who like a good laugh. This Lancashire comedy has not a serious moment in it from the opening scene, where mother-in-law (Mrs Lance Griffiths) lectures Lydia (Katharine Napier) on the evils of the hire-purchase system, to the final curtain on Arnold Stewkin’s (Anthony Spears) triumphant success with his homing pigeons. Here is good, broad comedy, and rehearsals indicate that the cast will extract the last ounce of fun from it. “As You Are ” is produced by Miss Bessie Thomson.
