SKATING CLUB
A new club, the Dunedin Amateur Skating Club, held its first fancy-dress carnival evening on Wednesday last at its headquarters in the Brydone Hall. There were about 100 persons present. The evening was spent in games and competitions, and a varied array of costumes was seen. This is the first club of its kind in New Zealand, and is the first time skating has deviated from professional administration. The results of the fancy dress competition were as follows:—Bestdressed lady, Miss E. Barbeau: bestdressed man, Mr D. Ritchie; most humorous costume. Mrs Y. Hookham; special prize, Miss Beverly Ramsey.
