ALIENS IN AUSTRALIA
OWNERSHIP OF PROPERTY REGULATIONS SIDE-STEPPED (N.Z.P.A. Special Aust. Correspondent) (Rec. 1 a.m.) SYDNEY, July 15. Alien subterfuges to obtain businesses and property contrary lo Government regulations which forbid them lo own such property are being investigated bv the Attorney-general's department. Charges have been made that wealthy aliens are side-stepping the regulations by a systam of payment after the war in collaboration with Australian owners of property. Aliens are said to have made secret agreements with owners for the sales to be made legal after the war when the regulations lapse.
