LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

Milton Branch.—Mrs H. Wilson presided. Yhe Scripture lesson was read by Mrs S. Martin and Mrs M. Paul gave the thought, “ Those who bring sunshine into the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves.” Mrs Lowry read an interesting letter 'from Monaivi. Dumfriesshire, the Milton link with Scotland. Mr J. R. Wilson, superintendent of the local fire brigade, gave a talk on how to extinguish incendiary bombs. Opoho Branch.—Mrs C. Parr presided. An inspiring address on " The Value of Adaptability ” was given by Miss Olive Mercer, who pointed out the necessity in these changing times of knowing how to adapt oneself to new Ideas and new situations. Mrs Knowles submitted the following thought: "The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world. Do we mothers realise this influence, this power we hold, and are we using it to promote future peace and harmony? "
