EMPIRE THEATRE

' ABBOTT AND COSTELLO

Based on a more interesting story, and having a more elaborate background than any of the previous Abbott and Costello films. “ Keep 'Em Flying,” the attraction at Ihe Empire Theatre to-morrow, has several sensational aerial sequences, among them the exciting episode of the wild rida of Abbott and Costello in a runaway plane. There is also a mile-a-minute chase in which a motorised torpedo takes Costello on a jaunt over the countryside. Musical numbers by Martha Rayo and Carol Bruce add to the enjoyment of the film.

Arthur Lubin, who was responsible for the direction of the earlier Abbott and Costello films, attains new artistic heights in his guidance of “ Keep ’Em Flying." In addition to keeping the plot moving at a swift tempo, he has achieved a nice balance in handling the ingredients of comedy, romance, music, and aviation scenes.
