CHRISTCHURCH, May 11. The fifth appraisement of Cmterbury wool for the 1941-42 season was commenced In Christchurch on April 22. The total offering was 13,993 bales. The value was £232,032 16s 9d, the average price per bale being £lB 11s 7.695 d, and the average price per lb 11.973 d. N.Z. NEWSPAPERS, LTD. (Special) AUCKLAND, May 11. The accounts of New Zealand Newspapers, Ltd., for the year ended March 31 show a net profit of £40,909, against £41,425 a year ago, and £45,035 in 1940. A final dividend of 8d a share is recommended, making Is 4d a share for the year, equal to 8 per ,cent, (unchanged). The year’s dividend absorbs £39,883, leaving £46,806 to be carried ' forward, against £45,730 brought in.
