NAVAL FORCES
PROMOTIONS ANNOUNCED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, May 11. The Minister of Defence, Mr F. Jones, announced to-night the following changes in respect to the Royal New Zealand Navy:— Captain E. Rotherham, naval officer in charge at Auckland, has been appointed commodore, second class. Commander M. J. Yeatman, second naval member of the New Zealand Naval Board, has been granted the acting rank of captain. ; “These changes,” the Minister said, “ are consequent on the increasing importance of the New Zealand naval command as part of the recently constituted South Pacific Area.
