MISSING PLANE

SEARCH CONTINUED WEATHER DETERIORATES (P.A.) NELSON, May 11. The weather to-day was worse than that which previously hampered the searchers for the Union Airways’ Lockheed passenger plane, which has been missing since Thursday morning, when it failed to reach the Nelson aerodrome after a flight from Wellington. Three passengers and two pilots were on board. \ The search was continued on a wide scale to-day. A pigeon service for communication between the searchers and the base has proved sure and rapid. A party of mounted riflemen with rations for four days has set off to search in bush country. It is still believed that the plane is somewhere on the land in the vicinity of Nelson, possibly in bush country, where it would be hard to locate.
