Vice-Regal The Governor-General, Sir Cyril Newall, and Lady Newall will conclude their term of residence at Auckland to-day. when they will leave on their first official visits to Te Kuiti and Taumarunui. They will resume residence at Government House, Wellington, on Friday.
Warrant Officer (II) D. G. Sherriff, of Dunedin, has been promoted to the rank of second-lieutenant, and has been posted to an army medical stores depot in the north.
Passengers who left for the north by air on Saturday were: Mr M. Nelsoij, Mr R. Bungess, Mr G. Stewart, and Mr W. Bowman for Christchurch, Miss Tingey, Mrs L. Arthur, Lieutenant R. P. Stuckey, and Miss D. Allen for Wellington, Miss P. H. Will for Palmerston North, and Miss M. Winstone for Auckland.
