MOVE BY ALLIES

ENEMY’S INVASION FEAR LONDON. Apl. 24. The Yorkshire Post’s military correspondent states that an Allied offensive in the west is now taking concrete shape. This coincides with a Washington report that United States and British staff talks, just completed in England, may lead to a dramatic change in the war situation. “ The Allied offensive may seriously jeopardise Hitler's', chance of even partial success in a spring offensive against Russia,” the Yorkshire Post correspondent adds. “The tables are being turned against the aggressor. The German High Command originally allotted 85 per cent, of the military strength at their disposal to the new attack on the Soviet Army. But fears of war on two European fronts have already resulted in a revision of these plans. It is now Germany who is contemplating violation of her soil. As a result, the Reich has to keep 2,000,000 people engaged in home defence and in the occupied countries. “ The Nazis have to provide the west with a new army, because Commando raids have raised the hopes of the conquered people and created a new spirit of resistance. The first advantage has been gained by the Allies, because a considerable additional force will not operate on the Russian front. The Allies, with plans which have not yet been revealed, will help Russia all they can this summer.”
