UNDEFENDED DIVORCE
In the Supreme Court yesterday Mr Justice Kennedy and a jury heard a petition for divorce brought by Raymond Murray Pratley against Barbara Pratley. The grounds were adultery, and James Robert Mac Kay was cited as co-respondent. Mr X. B. Stevenson appeared for the petitioner, and the action was not defended. The petition included a claim for £3OO damages. After hearing evidence, the jury found that adultery had been proved, and assessed damages at the full amount claimed. His Honor granted a decree nisi/ to be moved absolute after three months, and made an order for the damages assessed by the Jury to be paid into court by the co-respondent within 14 days. The petitioner was granted interim custody of one of the three children of the marriage.
