NAVAL ACCIDENT

CONDITION OF INJURED MEN A GENERAL IMPROVEMENT (P.A.) AUCKLAND. Jan. 6. Reasonably good progress is being made by Lieutenant Rex Cassey and the three naval ratings who were injured in a naval accident last week. The most seriously injured was Able Seaman S. D. Sherwood, son of Mr F. Sherwood, private secretary to the Minister of Defence (Mr Jones), who v.'as listed as critically injured when he was taken to hospital. His condition to-day was described as " improving, but still serious." Able Seaman Bas-se-tt, of Auckland, whose injuries were serious, was reported to-day lo be improving.

Lieutenant Cassey, of Auckland, who is suffering from minor injuries and shock, and Able Seaman Elliott, of Dunedin, who received minor injuries, are reported to be in a satisfactory condition.
