The Juvenile Council closed its present administration when it held the Annual Juvenile Initiation Competition at the Oddfellows' Hall at Forbury corner. Bro. W. H. Leßrun, as president of the council, extended a welcome to all present, including P.G. Bro. J. M. McElwee and G.T. Bro. E. L. Birt. The march-in of the four lodges competing was spectacular. The rendering of the various charges was of an exceptionally high standard, and showed that neither time, patience, nor perseverance had been spared. The judges tP.G.P. Bro. Walker, P.D.P. Bro. J. T. Faulds, and P.A. Bro. Clare), in their summing up, placed Pride of (he South (Invercargill) first, then Olive Branch, Star of Palmerston, and. Progress. Prior to the competition, the visitors were taken for a drive in the city, as the guests of the Order. A presentation was made to P.D.P. J. T. Faulds in appreciation of the 12 years' valuable services which he had given to the Juvenile Council. Enterprise Lodge has held its halfyearly meeting, with a large attendance of members. Before opening the business, the Arch Druid welcomed to the lodge room two of its oldest members —Bro. Mcßeath and Bro. Knox. A cordial welcome was given to the D.P.. Bro. Middlemiss, of No. 2 District, who paid the lodge an official visit. The subject of the doctors and social security was fully discussed. The following officers were elected for the current six months: Arch Druid. Bro. Calworthy; vice-arch bard, Bro. E. Maybee; treasurer, Bro. J. Maybee; M.C., Bro. W. Workman; A.D., Bards, Bros. A. T. Workman and P. Rees; In/C. Bro. A. Leathly; 0.G., Bro. T. Webb; V:A. Bards, Bros. A. Ockwell and W. Brown; Grand Lodge representatives, Bros. A. T. Workman and E. Bezett.
