RECORD TAX BILL

AMERICAN MEASURE SENATE’S APPROVAL WASHINGTON, (Rec. 7 p.m.) Sept. 17. The Senate finally approved the record Tax Bill, which was sent to White House. The measure heavily increases the levies on individuals and corporations by reducing exemptions and sharply raising the rates. The normal tax remains at 4 per cent. Surtaxes begin at 6 per cent, on the first 2000 dollars, and thereafter the rate increases progressively to 41 per cent.
