RAIDERS IN PACIFIC
REPORTED SINKINGS AN OFFICIAL DENIAL SINGAPORE, (Rec. 0.15 a.m. ) Sept. 18. Vice-admiral Sir Geoffrey Layton, commander-in-chief of the China station, in an interview, denied the reports of the sinking of 13 surface raiders by Netherlands and British vessels in the Pacific recently. “ The report is a lot of bunk, and there is no truth in it whatever,” he said.
