THE WEATHER
CLOUDY, WITH RAIN Forecast for Otago. —The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Moderate to fresh south-westerly to westerly winds; weather cloudy, with scattered rain chiefly in the south; cool to moderate' temperatlfres. Further Outlook.—Little change. Weather in Dunedin.— The weather in Dunedin yesterday was fine in the morning, with some sunshine, but early in the afternoon heavy rain began to fall and showers continued during the night. Temperatures were mild, the maximum being 58 degrees. The barometric pressure was steady until midday at 30.00 inches (1016 millibars), and then rose steadily to 30.18 inches (1022 millibars) at midnight.
