BRITISH JEWS

A MESSAGE TO RUSSIA "OUR NEW VALIANT ALLY" (Rec. 8 p.m.) RUGBY, Sept. 10. The Board of Deputies of British Jews,, in reply to a message sent from Moscow by the great Jewish rally on August 24, states: "In common with all our fellow citizens of the United Kingdom and the Empire we welcome our new valiant ally in the war for freedom, justice and security for all men. The whole world stands in admiration of the great fight waged by the Soviet armies against the most terrible war machine the world lias ever known. This fight has evoked the respect and hopes of all free peoples and of those struggling to be free. In the countries enslaved by the Nazis and Fascists, the Jews were the first victims and they have continued to be the special object of brutality. In the struggle against this barbarism the Jewish community of this country, as indeed the Jews of all free and freedomloving countries, are greatly encouraged by the fact that the Jewish population, together with their fellow citizens of the Soviet, have wholeheartedly joined in the struggle."
