RETURN FROM SUVA
SOLDIERS SENTENCED TO LONG TERMS AN AGREEMENT REACHED (0.C.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 17. "It has now been agreed that the prisoners in question shall be removed to New Zealand," said the Prime Minister, Mr P. Fraser, when replying in the House of Representatives to-day to an urgent question asked by Mr C. A. Wilkinson (Independent. Egmont), in conjunction with Mr W. E. Barnard (Democratic Labour. Napier), concerning the three New Zealand soldiers who were sentenced several months ago to hepvy terms of imprisonment in the Suva gaol. Mr Fraser said that' at the request of the Government he had discussed the matter in London with the Secretary of State for the Colonies, Lord Moyne. The Government was now initiating the necessary action to enable the men to be returned to the Dominion. Certain machinery had to be put in motion and that would be done.
