LABOUR PARTY'S ADVANTAGE AID FROM UNION SECRETARIES (0.C.) WELLINGTON, Sent. 17. ■ "In view of the evidence that trade union secretaries, who appear to have abundant supplies of petrol, are making their cars available to Labour Party organisers, will the Minister reconsider his decision to withhold petrol supplies from the organisers of other political parties?" asked Mr W. J. Broadfoot (Opposition, Waitomo) in a question addressed to the Minister of Industries and Commerce, Mr D. G. Sullivan, in the House of Representatives to-day. " In the Standard of September 2," Mr Broadfoot said, " there was a column-and-a-half report of a spaecb made by the national secretary of the New Zealand Labour Party, Mr M. Moohan. at Whangaparoa, when he was accompanying the national secretary of the New Zealand Workers' Union on his annual tour of the Auckland district." SUPPLIES FOR TOURING DEPARTMENTAL ACTIVITIES QUESTIONED (0.C.) WELLINGTON. Sept, 17. "Are these trips in keeping with the Government's benzine restriction policy? " asked Mr W. J. Poison (Opposition, Stratford) in the House of Representatives to-day. Mr Poison's question, which was addressed to the Minister of Transport. Mr R. Semple, referred to the fact that advertisements had appeared in the press over the name of the Tourist Department urging the public to patronise motor trips to a number of scenic resorts in various parts of the Dominion
