THE WEATHER
MAINLY FAIR Forecast for Otago.— The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Moderate winds from a westerly quarter predominating, and freshening: at times. Weather mainly fair to cloudy, but scattered rain likely about the Lakes district, and later in the south. Moderate temperatures. Further Outlook.—Cloudy, with occasional rain. Weather in Dunedin.— Bright sunshine and mild temperatures were experienced yesterday, a light north-east breeze springing up in the late afternoon. The maximum temperature was 59 degrees and the barometer fell to 30.05 inches (1018 millibars), the reading at midnight.
