RADIO PROGRAMMES
TO THE EDITOR Sir,—As the complaint which I have already made has not excited any comment, I wonder, as a taxpayer and a licence holder, if the authorities in Wellington will let us sorely tried listeners know the reason whv they have given orders that on no account must George Formby's records be played. Is it because of complaints they have received or is there any other reason"' I think we have a right to know. I for one say if his records are to be cut out. there are many others that should be similarly treated. I think it is about time that we people who keep the stations going should be consulted as to what we want to listen to. I am not alluding to the commercial stations as I never listen to them, put I do think we should be told why the people who control the national service stop all these different songs without giving any explanations whatsoever.— iuam, etc., .&'■- /,•,/.• :■ In . t A Returned Soldier, 1941.
