THE SPIRIT OF BOADICEA.—Complete in their army battle-dress and steel helmets, girls of the A.T.S. at a gun post. These girls work with the anti-aircraft batteries which engage the enemy. They handle the predictors—delicate instruments which work out for the gunners the range and height of enemy aircraft. Picked girls who have been given a highly-specialised course of training direct anti-aircraft firing and share with men gunners the hardships of gun-post life and the dangers of bombing and machine-gunning. When on gun sites the women wear army battle-dress.
