BURNSIDE STOCK SALE
KEEN VALUES MAINTAINED "FANCY" PRICES FOR LAMBS Values throughout the market were keen at the Burnside Stock Sale yesterday, competition being strong in all sections. High prices were paid for the few spring lambs offered. In the fat cattle section 245 head were penned against 305 last week. Included in the entry were several consignments of prime quality ox. Cows and heifers were in short supply. At the commencement of the auction competition was very keen, and values showed an improvement of 25s a head on last week's values As the sale progressed values eased slightly, but on the average ox could be quoted from 15s to 20s per head dearer. Cows and heifers met with keen competition, Jbut did not show the same apprecaiti'on, especially the heavy sorts. Extra prime heavy bullocks made to £24 12s 6d; prime ifeavy bullocks, £l9 17s 6d to £2l 12s 6d; prime bullocks, £l7 12s 6d to £lB 7s Gd; medium bullocks, £l3 17s 6d to £l6 7s 6d; light bullocks, from £ll 2s 6d; extra prime cows and heifers, to £l6 2s 6d; prime cows and heifers, £ll 17s 6d to £l4 7s 6d; medium cows and heifers, £9 7s 6d to £lO 7s 6d; light cows and heifers, from £6 2s 6d.
