DUNEDIN HIGHLAND RIFLES
EX-MEMBERS' ASSOCIATION The annual meeting of the Dunedin Highland Rifles Ex-members' Association was held on Monday last at Mr J. K. Macfie's office. There was a fair attendance of members, and the president (Mr J. A. Armit) was in the chair. The annual report was submitted by the president, who traversed the work carried out during the past year. It was to be regretted, the report stated, that the death of three old comrades had occurred during the year, and a resolution of sympathy with the relatives was passed. The association had lost Lt.Q.M. J. Moncrieff, and Messrs J, Rodger and J. G. McClymont, all of whom had been active in its interests. The balance sheet showed that the financial position was satisfactory. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Colonel A. Stoneham; president. Mr J. T. Gillan; vicepresidents—Messrs J. McDonald, J. Sim, J. B. Stewart, J. K. Macfie, D. Eraser, G. Waldie, J. C. Rigby. J. D. Cameron, J. A. Armit, D. Ferguson; auditor, Mr J. K. Macfie; official piper, Mr J T. N. Grant; joint secretaries, Messrs W. E. McKeich and F. W. A. Clayton; committee—Messrs W. McKinley. J. Frew, D. Ferguson, W. Mackay B. Newman, G. H. Ferens, K. Melville. J. C. Rigby: Musical CommitteeMessrs G. Waldie, G. H, Ferens, F. W A. Clavton; stewards—Messrs J. C. Rigby, 'J. Free and J. C. McDonald. Arrangements were made for the annual reunion. The annual subscriptions were fixed at 4s 6d for city members and 3s 6d for members eisewhere in the Dominion. It was resolved to invite as'guests several exmembers who had been active volunteers in the earlier days.
