Marshall, Lance-bombardier Francis Sydney; wife, Mrs I. M. Marshall, Auckland. MESSAGES FROM PRISONERS VATICAN RADIO SERVICE IP.A.) AUCKLAND, Sept. 16. The names of six New Zealand prisoners of war from whom messages of greeting were sent over the Vatican radio last night have been forwarded by a resident of Frankton Junction. The names and addresses to which messages were sent; are: G. Duncan (27 Grosvcnor street, Dunedin), Ron Davies (17 Moans

avenue, Onehunga), Robinson (Quarry road, Christchurch), 2316 Sapper Winston Smith (Clifton, Sumner). 2315 Sapper Charles Slade (Manurewa), 24036 Private Peter Grant (Karangahape, Auckland). Messages may be sent to these men through the Apostolic Delegate at Sydney. NAVAL OFFICER KILLED A Christchurch naval officer. Lieutenant Derek M. Hall, R.N.R.. has been killed in action at sea. News of his death has been received by his parents, Mr and Mrs George M. Hall, of Heaton street, Christchurch. In a cablegram from the Admiralty to Mr and Mrs Hall deep regret was expressed at having to inform them of their son's death on September 9." The last letter received from Lieutenant Hall, who was aged 24 years, indicated that he' was on duty with the Atlantic patrol, serving in a corvette.
