OTAGO ASSOCIATION A meeting.of the committee of the Otago Cricket Association was held yesterday to consider a dispute between the Carisbrook and Albion-Y.M.C.A. Clubs regarding the gate takings at the final match of the competition between Carisbrook B and Albion-Y.M.C.A., played at Logan Park. When the arrangements were being made for the final match last season, the Carisbrook representative had been led to believe that the question of sharing the proceeds of the match could be settled in a friendly manner between the two clubs, but when the Carisbrook Club approached the Albion-Y.M.C.A. they had refused to share the takings. ■ , After some discussion, in which the majority of the members gave strong support to the Carisbrook Club’s contention that the gate takings should be divided, it was decided to write to the two clubs, saying that in the ordinary circumstances of the draw, the match would have been played on Carisbrook’s home ground. When the arrangements concerning the game were being discussed, the Carisbrook Club’s representative had been convinced that the question of sharing the profits could be solved in a friendly way. If the clubs were now unable to come to an agreement, the matter would be referred to the association for a final decision.
